Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data VidSpark ("we", "us") collects when you use our website and streaming service, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We collect as little as we need to run the Service.
1. Data we collect
- Account data: your email address and a securely hashed version of your password (we never store your password in readable form), plus timestamps such as when you signed up, last signed in, and verified your email.
- Sign in with Google: if you choose "Continue with Google", Google shares your name, email address and Google account ID with us (nothing else: we never see your Google password or other Google data). We use them to create your account, recognise you when you sign in, and link the account to an existing one with the same verified email. You can unlink Google from your Account page once you have set a password; Google's handling of your data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
- Subscription data: your plan, subscription status, PayPal subscription ID, billing dates, and payment records received from PayPal (transaction ID, amount, currency, status and date).
- Technical data: IP address, browser type and request logs, used for security, fraud and abuse prevention (for example, rate-limiting sign-in attempts), and troubleshooting.
- Preferences: settings such as your subtitle language and position are stored in your browser's local storage, not on our servers.
2. Payment information
Payments are processed by PayPal. We never receive or store your card number, bank details or PayPal password. PayPal shares only the information needed to manage your subscription, such as the subscription ID and payment status. PayPal's handling of your data is governed by the PayPal Privacy Statement.
3. How we use your data
- To create and secure your account and keep you signed in.
- To provide subscriber access, process renewals and cancellations, and keep billing records.
- To send service emails such as email verification, password resets and important billing notices. We do not send marketing email without your consent.
- To protect the Service against fraud, abuse and security threats, and to comply with legal obligations such as tax and accounting rules.
4. Cookies
We use one essential, secure session cookie to keep you signed in and to protect forms against cross-site request forgery. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. PayPal may set its own cookies when you use its checkout.
5. Sharing
We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run the Service (PayPal for payments, Google if you sign in with Google, our hosting and email delivery providers) under appropriate confidentiality obligations, or when required by law.
6. Retention
We keep account data while your account is open. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except for billing records we must keep for tax, accounting or legal reasons (typically up to 7 years). Security logs are kept for a limited period. Database backups are deleted on a rolling 14-day schedule.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can change your password, cancel your subscription, download your data and delete your account from your Account page. For any other request, email support@vidspark.io from the address on your account. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
8. Security
We use HTTPS everywhere, hash passwords with a modern algorithm (Argon2id), use secure cookies, and limit access to personal data to people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data.
9. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. If changes are significant, we will let you know by email or on the Service. The "Last updated" date shows when it last changed.
